Community Recreation & Amenities
Nathan Hornburg Skatepark: On September 24, 2007, the war in Afghanistan claimed the life of Corporal Nathan Hornburg. The 24- year old reservist with the King’s Own Calgary Regiment was the son of one of our local ranching families and was a member of this community. To honour his memory and pay tribute to his community involvement, family and friends collaborated with the Nanton & District Lions Club to form a committee for the creation of a skatepark.
With substantial fund raising, the park was built and landscaped and stands today as a tribute to not only Nathan, but the Nanton and area community spirit accomplishments.
Nanton Golf Club: The Nanton Golf Club is a premier 18-hole public golf course that combines the natural beauty of the Foothills with the relaxed, friendly environment of a small town. Our vision is to provide both local members and visitors with the unique golf experience of a Club in the Country – Not a Country Club. The majestic and natural beauty of the course is complimented by a well-appointed Clubhouse and a full-service Proshop, where our friendly staff are always happy to provide information and assistance. | Nanton Rodeo Grounds: The grounds are the home of Nanton Nite Rodeo, which is held every weekend during the summer months.
