The current bylaw addressing the topic of fireworks in Nanton is Bylaw 1204 (2009). Section 14 Fireworks14.1 - No person shall use Fireworks or permit the use of Fireworks on his or her property or property under his or her control, within the boundaries of the Town. |
14.2 - Subject to section 14.1, authorization for Fireworks will only be issued for the discharge of professional Fireworks and discharged by a minimum Level 2 Fireworks Supervisor as accredited by Natural Resources Canada. Please do not apply to the Town or Fire Department for authorization unless a Level 2 Fireworks Supervisor or greater is attached to the proposal - it cannot be authorized.

Authorizations under section 14.2 are dealt with jointly between Town Administration, Community Peace Officers, and the Fire Chief. Please contact the Town Office or Fire Department with plenty of lead time if you are seeking approval for a fireworks display.
The boundaries of the Town are shown below, but it is important to be aware that firework displays within the M.D. of Willow Creek are also prohibited without the written permission of the Manager of Emergency Services, no permission being available in the event of Fire Restrictions or Bans being in place.
