Project Information  - Background and Purpose

In 2019, Council passed a Public Asset Donation policy opening the door for a more organized range of donated public assets or financial donations aimed at the public realm. This might include trees, benches, bike racks, picnic tables, playground equipment and less tangible contributions towards park and recreational areas. To reduce visual and maintenance clutter and avoid the awkwardness of returning plaques to families when an asset reaches the end of its useful life, it was determined that a Memorial Tree Wall or other kind of installation be incorporated into the Westview Pond Park.
