Connect with Council

All formal inquiries to Council will be directed to its attention for consideration. When you feel strongly about a public issue or local concern, Council would like you to share your information and thoughts with them. You are encouraged to review the Town's Communication Policy.

Delegation or Presentation

If you would like to make a presentation to Council, you must submit a written request to the Town Office. The request must include the reason for the presentation and must contain adequate information to the satisfaction of the CAO to enable Council to attend to the matter. The written request must be received by the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), no later than 4 p.m. on the Monday of the week prior to the meeting, including all necessary attachments. This includes items such as handouts or any presentation notes.

Council Chambers is located at the 2122 18th Street entrance of the Tom Hornecker Recreation Centre (upstairs).

Send a Letter

If you are unable or do not wish to attend a meeting, you are encouraged to email cao@nanton.ca or drop a letter off, which would be made part of the public record. A written submission must be received by the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), no later than 4 p.m. on the Monday of the week prior to the meeting. Letters sent to the Council as general information will be noted in the agenda as correspondence in order for the information to be considered and responded to by Council.

Proclamations and Supports

The Town of Nanton Council receives requests for formal proclamations by groups and organizations who wish to raise awareness on an event, or provincial/national day or month. A declaration of proclamations is at the discretion of the Mayor, therefore proclamations should be requested for community improvement through education and awareness.

Please read the Proclamation Policy for more information.

Please fill out the Proclamation Form if interested.

Council may choose to acknowledge support for a requested campaign without issuing a formal proclamation and/or resolution.
