In Town dogs are governed under Animal Bylaw 1378/23.
Every dog over the age of three months must have a license. Dog licenses must be renewed by January of each year. If the license is not paid by January 31 there will be a penalty of $10 added to the account.
Dog License Fees:
Fixed - $20.00
Unfixed - $35.00
It is important to get your dog licensed in the event they get out your yard they can be returned to you more quickly and efficiently. If your dog is running at large and we capture your dog, if there is a dog tag we will do everything in our power to contact the owner and return the dog. If the owner cannot be located OR if this is a continuous issue, your dog will be taken to the impound and you will be charged for these services.
All dogs need to be on a leash. The exception is when in designated off-leash dog area(s). You must be in full control of your dog at all times. The dog park is located at the West View Dog Park
