Dog Licensing in the Town of Nanton
Animal Bylaw 1378/23

All dogs over the age of three (3) months must be licensed in the Town of Nanton. Dog licenses must be renewed annually by January.

Licensing your dog helps ensure they can be returned home quickly and safely if they get loose. If a dog is found at large and has a valid license tag, every effort will be made to contact the owner and reunite them with their pet. If the owner cannot be located, or if roaming becomes a repeated issue, the dog may be taken to the impound and related fees will apply.

Dog License Fees
Fixed (spayed/neutered): $20.00
Unfixed: $35.00

Household Dog Limit
There is a maximum of three (3) dogs per household within Town limits.

Leash & Control Requirements
All dogs must be on a leash unless they are in a designated off-leash area. Owners must maintain full control of their dogs at all times.
The Town’s off-leash area is located at the West View Dog Park.
