The Town of Nanton is seeking experienced Junior Lifeguards for the Tom Hornecker Recreation Centre, for the upcoming 2026 pool season. Reporting to the Pool Supervisor, this position oversees the activities in the pool and deck areas, helps in aquatic training, water quality management activities and other routine lifeguard duties. The position’s available are seasonal and are part-time, starting near the end of May and going to early September 2026 - weekends and evenings are expected.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • National Lifeguard Certificate
  • Standard First Aid
  • Must be 16 years of age
  • Must be cleared by a Canadian Police Vulnerable sector check
  • Lifesaving Instructor certification required or intent to complete

These positions are recognized under the agreement between the Town of Nanton and the Canadian Union of Public Employees Local 37.  The Junior Lifeguard rate of pay is $19.16/hr.
