Municipal Planning Commission - 1 Member
The Municipal Planning Commission (MPC) acts as a development and subdivision authority for the Town on matters relating to the Land Use Bylaw (#1389/24) and in accordance with the MPC Bylaw. (#1353/21). Members cannot act as a member of both an MPC and an Appeal Board. Meeting frequency is dependent on need, but availability once per month (second Monday of each) is expected.
Desirable Qualifications:
• Demonstrate integrity to be perceived as fair and impartial;
• Good analytical and reasoning skills;
• Have regard for the interests of property owners, developers and other parties most affected by development;
• Involvement in the community and/or knowledge in development-related areas such as architecture, engineering/construction or land use planning;
• Knowledge, or willingness to learn, about subdivision and development processes.
