Nathan Hornburg Skatepark

cement path with features for skateboarding and trees

On September 24, 2007, the war in Afghanistan claimed the life of Corporal Nathan Hornburg. The 24- year old reservist with the King’s Own Calgary Regiment was the son of one of our local ranching families and was a member of this community. To honour his memory and pay tribute to his community involvement, family and friends collaborated with the Nanton & District Lions Club to form a committee for the creation of a skatepark.

With substantial fund raising, the park was built and landscaped and stands today as a tribute to not only Nathan, but the Nanton and area community spirit accomplishments.
