Strategic Plan 2026–2029
Following each municipal election, Town of Nanton Council develops a Strategic Plan to establish its priorities and provide direction for the four-year Council term. This document serves as a roadmap for decision-making, resource allocation, and long-term planning, ensuring that Council's goals remain focused, transparent, and aligned with the needs of the community.
The 2026–2029 Strategic Plan was developed by Transitional Solutions Inc. in collaboration with Council and Administration. It reflects Council's vision for the future of Nanton and outlines the key initiatives that will guide municipal projects, services, and investments throughout the 2026–2029 term.
Built around the principles of responsible governance, sustainable growth, and community well-being, the Plan focuses on four strategic priority areas:
- Reliable Infrastructure – Investing in and maintaining the roads, water, wastewater, and municipal assets that support our community today and into the future.
- Fiscal Responsibility & Economic Development – Managing municipal finances responsibly while encouraging investment, supporting local businesses, and strengthening Nanton's economic future.
- Livable Community – Enhancing quality of life through recreation, thoughtful planning, communication, and initiatives that foster a safe, welcoming, and connected community.
- Partnerships – Working collaboratively with neighbouring municipalities, community organizations, businesses, residents, and other levels of government to achieve shared goals and create lasting benefits.
The Strategic Plan is intended to be a living document. Throughout Council's term, progress is reviewed and reported regularly, allowing priorities to evolve as projects are completed, opportunities emerge, and community needs change.
We encourage residents, businesses, and stakeholders to explore the full 2026–2029 Strategic Plan to learn more about the priorities and initiatives that will help shape the future of the Town of Nanton.
