If you’ve spent any time in Nanton, chances are you’ve met Jennie. Perhaps she’s poured your coffee at one of the downtown cafés, cheered beside you at a local game, or encouraged you to add just a bit more weight to your lift at Decidedly Fit. For her, Nanton has always been more than just a place on a map; it’s home. It’s where she was born and raised, where her family’s roots run deep, and where she has chosen to raise her daughter.
Deeply connected to her hometown, she has spent many years giving back to the community that has given her so much. Her volunteer roles as President of Nanton Minor Baseball, a board member for the Nanton Marlin Swim Club, and now as part of the Nanton Quality of Life Board reflect her commitment to collaboration and community building. Professionally, she has worked with Alberta Health Services at the High River Hospital for the past 15 years, beginning in long-term care and now serving in the Cancer Clinic and Low Risk Clinic, where she manages payroll and scheduling. These experiences have strengthened her organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, abilities she hopes to bring to Town Council. Currently completing a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources and Labour Relations through Athabasca University, she continues to develop her expertise in leadership, governance, and conflict resolution. Dedicated, experienced, and passionate about Nanton’s future, she looks forward to helping ensure the town remains a great place to live, work, and raise families.
