Please allow sufficient time for payment to reach the office before the penalty date indicated on the statement.
 

In-Person at the Municipal Office: Payments by cash, cheque, credit card and debit can be made during business hours from 8:30 - 4:00 pm.  Night deposit is also available (no cash accepted in the night deposit).  All cheques must be payable to the Town of Nanton. Cheques are conditional payment until honoured. Penalties will apply for any dishonoured payment.

Through OptionPay, our third-party payment processor, for a nominal processing fee you can make card payment through our website using the "MAKE A PAYMENT" link, on your smart phone by scanning the QR Code on the website, available at the municipal front desk and outside on the door. All processing fees are charged by OptionPay and are not received by the Municipality.

What is OptionPay?

OptionPay is a payment card system the Town of Nanton uses for its online credit/debit card transactions. You can find out more information about OptionPay by visiting their website here.

Is there an added fee for using OptionPay to pay my Town of Nanton bills with my credit card?

Yes All transactions carried out through OptionPay follow a tiered schedule, starting at a minimum fee of $2.00. To see the full fee schedule for using this payment option, please visit their fee schedule here.

Why is there an added fee to pay with credit card?

The fees are administered through the Option Pay program for the use of their service, and not through the Town of Nanton.

Is my credit card and personal information secure with this program?

OptionPay provides information on their security measures here. Please note that the Town of Nanton takes no responsibility for, and accepts no liability, in the event of security breaches, technical difficulty, or other issues that may arise from your use for OptionPay. All users accept responsibility for their use of this service and do so at their own risk.

Financial Institutions: Payment can be made directly at most chartered banks, trust companies, credit unions and Alberta Treasury Branches.

You will require your account number to complete the transaction. Please refer to the Locate Your Account Number section below to view the most frequent invoices. 

*Note the TD Bank does not have a Town of Nanton payment option 

From your financial institution's online banking site, locate the Town of Nanton as the Payee. Please note that the Payee name may be entered differently depending on the bank, using a broad search such as 'Nanton' tends to work best. 

Once the Payee has been selected, choose the account type (utilities or taxes) and enter your account number as shown on your invoice. For guidance on how to find your account number, please see the drop down list below. 

Contact your bank if you have any difficulties.  Please note that most banks can take up to three days for processing.

TIPP (Tax Installment Payment Plan) 

Make property tax time easier with TIPP! Instead of paying your annual taxes in one lump sum each June, your payments are divided into twelve equal monthly installments and automatically withdrawn from your bank account, helping you budget year-round.
